Sales Manager

Yosemite Basecamp is more than a gear shop — it’s a hub for adventurers exploring Yosemite responsibly. We offer high-quality outdoor gear, clothing, and trip-planning services through both in-store and online retail. We’re looking for a driven, self-starting Sales Manager to grow online sales, develop marketing strategies, and engage directly with in-house guests.

Position details

Responsibilities

• Drive online sales growth through social media, digital marketing, and e-commerce strategies

• Assist in-house guests with gear, clothing, and adventure planning

• Manage digital marketing and e-commerce tools (Square, Wix, Meta)

• Develop and request budgets for paid ads and promotional campaigns

• Work directly with guests in person, via email, and over the phone to build itineraries

• Match guests with appropriate rental gear and in-store inventory

• Maintain a fun, clean, and welcoming outfitter environment

• Coordinate with local businesses to meet guest needs and expectations

Who we’re looking for

• A self-starter who enjoys testing new ideas and strategies

• Experience in sales, marketing, or e-commerce (formal or informal)

• Comfort with social media, digital platforms, and online sales

• Creative, curious, and willing to learn by doing

• Passion for the outdoors and sustainable tourism is a plus

• Positive, empathetic, and adaptable in a fast-paced environment

• Strong multitasking skills (interruptions are part of the job)

Adventure Coordinator

$18/hour

The Adventure Coordinator serves as a concierge for visitors exploring Yosemite, Groveland, and the surrounding Sierra. This role focuses on trip planning, guest services, adventure bookings, gear rentals, and retail support. Our environment is friendly and relaxed, supported by systems that prioritize guest service, employee empowerment, outdoor equity, and environmental sustainability.

 

What the future holds

Many past coordinators have gone on to become guides or start their own businesses. We’re also actively working toward creating more internal growth opportunities and flexible work options within Yosemite Basecamp.

 

Position details

• 32–40 hours per week

Responsibilities

• Develop working knowledge of Yosemite and surrounding recreation areas (or learn efficiently)

• Assist guests in person, by phone, and via email with trip planning and itineraries

• Book guided adventures and manage guest reservations

• Match guests with appropriate gear rentals and store inventory

• Maintain a clean, fun, and welcoming outfitter environment

• Coordinate with local businesses to meet guest expectations

• Escalate complex guest concerns to managers when needed

Part-Time Housekeepers

$18/hour

​

This flexible position requires 2–4 hours per day, five days per week (minimum 15 hours/week). Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning and maintaining guest accommodations and shared spaces across Yosemite Basecamp.

Responsibilities may include

• Cleaning guest rooms, cabins, and common areas

• Assisting with deep cleaning projects as assigned

• Maintaining laundry rooms and storage areas

• Completing all in-house laundry

• Providing lunch relief for Adventure Coordinators

• Managing trash, recycling, and refuse disposal

• Light groundskeeping (trash pickup, watering plants, straightening signage)

• Assisting with snow and ice removal when needed

• Reporting maintenance issues and safety concerns to management

• Assisting other team members and responding to guest needs when appropriate

 

Full-Time Housekeepers

$20/hour

 

This full-time position is scheduled for 40 hours per week (8 hours/day, 5 days/week). Housekeepers are responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness and guest comfort throughout Yosemite Basecamp accommodations.

Responsibilities may include

• Daily cleaning and stay-over services for rooms and cabins

• Deep cleaning projects as assigned

• Maintaining laundry rooms and storage areas

• Completing all in-house laundry

• Managing trash, recycling, and refuse disposal

• Providing retail or lunch relief shifts as needed

• Light groundskeeping and seasonal maintenance

• Snow and ice removal when required

• Conducting visual safety inspections and reporting maintenance issues
